Connectors & Modular Jacks provide the physical connection in the network and on the PCB – RJ45 jacks (also with integrated magnetics), plugs and headers. We supply connectors from Bel Fuse (Stewart) with selection advice.
What matters when selecting
- Connector type: RJ45 jack/plug, RJ11/RJ12, USB, board-to-board, terminal/pin header
- Integrated magnetics (MagJack): yes or no
- Transmission class: Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a or Cat8
- Shielding & LED: UTP/STP; with or without status LEDs
- Mounting: THT, SMT, panel mount, straight or right-angle

Shielded or unshielded?
In noisy or industrial environments STP/FTP is sensible; in the office UTP often suffices.
