Product description
Quectel KCMCA6SAAMD-0L is a WM-Bus module from the KCMCA6S series in LCC form factor, based on the Silicon Labs EFR32FG23 chipset with an ARM Cortex-M33 processor and supporting the EN13757-4 wireless M-Bus standard.
Series overview
Quectel's KCMCA6S series comprises sub-GHz WM-Bus modules combining an integrated MCU, a sub-GHz transceiver and a built-in software stack. According to the manufacturer, the modules target smart metering and AMI (advanced metering infrastructure) applications for water, electricity, gas and heat meters.
Configuration and features
- ARM Cortex-M33 processor with up to 78 MHz clock speed
- 32 KB SRAM and 256 KB flash memory integrated
- 868 MHz frequency band, with 169 MHz and 433 MHz listed by the manufacturer as under development
- Interfaces: USART, SWD and 11x GPIO, with optional EUSART, I2C and ADC via pin multiplexing
- LCC package with dimensions of 25.4 mm x 14.0 mm x 2.9 mm
- Operating temperature range of -40 °C to +85 °C
Typical use cases
The module suits applications requiring a compact, low-power WM-Bus connection.
- Smart meters for water, gas, electricity and heat
- Advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) systems
- Space-constrained IoT end devices with sub-GHz connectivity
