Transceivers

Transceivers are pluggable optical modules (SFP, SFP+, SFP28, QSFP & more) that convert electrical to optical signals and connect switches, routers and servers over fiber or copper. As an official ProLabs distributor, Atlantik Elektronik supplies vendor-coded, compatible transceivers – functionally equivalent to OEM optics, at predictable cost.

What matters when selecting

  • Form factor & data rate: SFP/SFP+/SFP28/QSFP to match the port – from 1 to 400 Gbit/s
  • Standard & wavelength: e.g. 1000Base-SX/LX, 10GBase-LR – 850/1310/1550 nm
  • Reach & fiber type: multimode for short, singlemode for long links (up to over 80 km)
  • Compatibility with the target vendor: coding for Cisco, Juniper, HPE/Aruba, Arista & more
  • DOM/DDM & temperature range: optional monitoring, commercial to industrial (−40…+85 °C)

Frequently asked questions from developers and buyers

Which form factor and standard suit my port?

The port determines the form factor (e.g. SFP+ for 10G, QSFP28 for 100G); the standard (e.g. 10GBase-LR) sets reach and fiber. We match module and port.

Is the transceiver compatible with my switch/router?

Compatible modules are coded for the target vendor (Cisco, Juniper, HPE/Aruba, etc.). We select the right coding and provide samples when needed.

Multimode or singlemode – and which reach?

Multimode suits short in-building links, singlemode long distances. We choose wavelength and reach to match the link.

Does the module support DOM/DDM?

Many modules offer Digital Optical Monitoring (power, temperature, status). Support depends on the type – we provide details per module.

Are industrial and TAA-compliant modules available?
