Product description
The Nuvoton KA49703A is a stackable battery monitoring IC (BMIC) in a QFP-48 package for monitoring up to 16 series-connected lithium-ion cells, designed for battery voltages from 12.5 V to 76.8 V.
Series Overview
The KA49703A belongs to Nuvoton's stackable BMIC family and complements the non-stackable variants with a daisy-chain function. Connecting up to 55 devices in series enables large-scale battery systems for high-voltage applications.
Configuration and Features
- Monitors up to 16 lithium-ion cells per IC in a compact QFP-48 package
- Daisy-chain communication for up to 55 devices connected in series
- High-resolution ADC for cell voltage and current measurement
- Voltage measurement accuracy of up to ±2.9 mV
- SPI / Daisy interface, operating voltage range 12.5 V to 76.8 V
- Alarm outputs for overcharge, overdischarge, and abnormal high/low temperature
- Operating temperature range from -40 °C to 105 °C
Typical Applications
The KA49703A is designed for applications with high cell counts and multiple BMICs connected in series.
- Battery Backup Units (BBU) for AI servers
- Large-scale Energy Storage Systems (ESS)
