Product description
The Qualcomm Dragonwing IQ-2390 is an industrial system-on-chip that combines application compute, machine vision, AI acceleration and deterministic Ethernet networking with Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) on a single platform.
IQ-2390 at a Glance
The IQ-2390 is the first product in the new Dragonwing IQ2 Series and targets compact, cost-optimized industrial systems such as HMIs, PLCs, gateways and machine-vision systems. A quad-core CPU with one Arm Cortex-A78 and three Cortex-A55 cores delivers approximately 33K DMIPS of application compute, while a dedicated RISC-V microcontroller independently handles time-critical control and sensor tasks.
Configuration and Features
- Quad-core CPU: 1x Arm Cortex-A78 up to 1.9 GHz and 3x Arm Cortex-A55 up to 1.8 GHz
- Qualcomm Adreno 704 GPU at up to 1.1 GHz for 3D graphics and HMI rendering
- AI acceleration via Qualcomm Hexagon with up to 1.1 INT8 TOPS while preserving CPU resources
- Real-time RISC-V E61 microcontroller at 600 MHz with 768 KB memory for deterministic control
- Two Gigabit Ethernet interfaces with Time-Sensitive Networking for time-aware industrial communications
- Dual integrated ISPs supporting up to two 13 MP sensors or one 25 MP sensor at 30 fps
- Extended operating temperature range of -30 °C to +115 °C (Tj) with hardware ECC memory protection
Typical Application Areas
Qualcomm lists the following target applications for the IQ-2390:
- Micro and small Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- Industrial Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs)
- Industrial gateways
- Machine-vision systems and industrial scanners
- Building control systems as well as energy and EVSE systems
Note for Development and Sourcing
The IQ-2390 is part of Qualcomm's Product Longevity Program with guaranteed ten-year supply longevity and supports Yocto Linux, Ubuntu, Android and Zephyr on the MCU side.
