Frequently Asked Questions about the Q-2390M
What differentiates the Q-2390M from the Q-2390S?
According to the Qualcomm Product Brief, the Q-2390S supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and wired connectivity, while the Q-2390M additionally adds an integrated LTE Cat 4 modem for cellular connectivity. With the same ordering variant (AA or AB), CPU, GPU, AI accelerator and RISC-V MCU are identical.
How are Wi-Fi and Bluetooth provided on the Q-2390M?
The Q-2390M provides Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0/5.1 via separate Qualcomm companion chips (WCN3950/WCN398x) rather than as an integrated function of the processor itself. This configuration allows flexible adaptation of wireless connectivity to the respective product design.
What is the difference between CQ2390M-0-AB and CQ2390M-0-AA?
According to the Product Brief, the CQ2390M-0-AB variant offers higher CPU clock speeds (1.9 GHz/1.8 GHz instead of 1.5 GHz), a Hexagon AI accelerator with up to 1.1 INT8 TOPS, a RISC-V microcontroller unit, a Hexagon V66 audio DSP, Zephyr support, and a Tj range up to +115 °C instead of +95 °C. The CQ2390M-0-AA variant, in contrast, has no AI accelerator, no MCU and no DSP. This article corresponds to the CQ2390M-0-AB variant.
