The Teltonika SWM281 is a managed Ethernet switch designed for network infrastructures that require high port density, structured segmentation, and central management. With 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports and 4 SFP ports, the device is suitable for larger networks where copper and fiber connectivity need to be combined on one platform.
Hybrid connectivity with RJ45 and SFP
The 24 RJ45 ports support Gigabit Ethernet and are complemented by four SFP ports for fiber uplinks or backbone connections. This allows the SWM281 to be used both as a central access switch and in aggregated distribution structures where dense copper connectivity and longer uplink distances are required.
L2+ and L3 functionality for segmented networks
On the network side, the switch combines L2+ and L3 functions such as VLAN, STP/RSTP, port aggregation through LACP, IGMP snooping, QoS, bandwidth control, and static IPv4 and IPv6 routing. Dynamic routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF v2, RIP v1/v2, and EIGRP are also supported. This makes the device suitable for environments that require segmented, prioritized, and controlled routed networks.
Designed for industrial and conventional infrastructures
The SWM281 supports Profinet, MRP, and EtherNet/IP, making it suitable for mixed industrial and enterprise networks. Depending on the order code, a version with Profinet Class B conformance is also available. This makes the switch relevant for applications where industrial communication and conventional Ethernet infrastructure need to coexist.
Central management in a rack deployment
The device runs SwmOS and supports Web UI, FOTA, RMS, as well as configuration profiles and backups. Two years of RMS Management are included. Its 19-inch rack format with anodized aluminium housing is designed for installation in central network cabinets and technical infrastructure rooms.
