Frequently asked questions
When is time-of-flight used instead of a pure RGB camera?
When depth information is needed – e.g. for gestures, distance and presence detection. RGB and ToF can also be combined. Range and accuracy determine the design.
Why on-device inference for vision HMIs?
Local processing delivers low latency and supports privacy by design, because image data does not have to leave the device.
Which interfaces are relevant for cameras?
Common ones are MIPI CSI-2, USB3 UVC and GMSL2 for longer distances; for multi-cam setups, synchronisation also matters.
