Product description
The AKM CZ39 Series is a family of coreless automotive current sensor ICs (Currentier) with a 100 ns response time and linear measurement ranges from ±20.9 A to ±154.0 A, designed for use alongside SiC/GaN power devices in on-board chargers, DC/DC converters and eFuse circuits.
CZ39 Series Overview
The series uses a compound Hall element for contactless current sensing and achieves a low primary conductor resistance through its dedicated package, reducing heat generation and easing thermal design under continuous high current loads.
Configuration & Features
- 100 ns response time via compound Hall element
- Typical primary conductor resistance of 0.3 mΩ, rated for up to 40 Arms continuous current at 125 °C ambient temperature
- Supply voltage 5.0 V (4.5 to 5.5 V), ratiometric output with VREF pin
- Isolation voltage 3.0 kVrms, working voltage up to 1100 Vrms (reinforced insulation, pollution degree 1), creepage/clearance distance ≥ 7.2 mm
- Operating temperature range −40 °C to +125 °C, AEC-Q100 qualified
- Certified to IEC/UL62368-1 and UL1577, Pb-free and halogen-free, MSL2a
- Variants CZ3902 to CZ3907 with sensitivities from 100.0 to 13.6 mV/A and linear sensing ranges from ±20.9 A to ±154.0 A, each bipolar
Typical Applications
- On-board chargers (OBC) for electric vehicles
- DC/DC converters in EV powertrains
- Electronic fuses (eFuse) in high-voltage vehicle electrical systems
Related components are available in the Sensor & Converter ICs category and in the E-Mobility & Charging Infrastructure solution area.
Note for Development
The specific variant (CZ3902 to CZ3907) depends on the required measurement range and sensitivity; AKM provides an individual datasheet per variant along with a PCB design kit including Gerber data, footprint and 3D model. The series part status is MP (mass production).
